Jacob Mushi – A Journey of Resilience, Vision & Purpose
Jacob Mushi is a Tanzanian entrepreneur, author, and technology visionary whose life journey reflects resilience, faith, and an unshakable belief in purpose.
After completing his secondary education, and even before advancing to college, Jacob spent his school holidays doing manual labor to support himself and his family. He worked as a saidia fundi on construction sites—helping to build houses, carrying materials, mixing cement—and also participated in farming activities. These early experiences exposed him to the realities of hard work, discipline, and perseverance from a very young age.
Even in those humble beginnings, Jacob carried a bold vision. While working alongside fundis and fellow laborers, he would often tell them, “One day, I will own a company and give people jobs.” Many laughed at him. But what sounded like a joke to others was a seed of vision that would later define his life.
In 2013, he completed his college education in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Soon after, he secured his first professional role at Five Star Hardware Ltd in Moshi as a storekeeper, managing construction materials and inventory operations. Although the position offered stability, Jacob made a courageous decision after just four months—to resign and pursue his true calling in technology, creativity, and leadership.
In 2014, he joined Moshi Computing Center as a volunteer computer teacher. For over a year, he dedicated himself to empowering students and community members with essential digital skills. This season strengthened his character, instilling in him a deep spirit of service, discipline, and a firm belief in education as a tool for transformation.
In 2015, Jacob relocated to Arusha, where he founded Moja Technology. Through this venture, he entered the digital space with passion—designing blogs and websites, publishing motivational content, and writing books that reached and inspired thousands online. This marked the foundation of his digital career and creative expression.
Authorship & Thought Leadership
Alongside his entrepreneurial journey, Jacob established himself as a motivational writer and author. Over the years, he has written and published five impactful books:

Building Netpoa & the Bigger Vision
In 2018, while based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Jacob officially launched Netpoa, a digital services company specializing in web hosting, domain registration, and digital solutions. Under his leadership, Netpoa grew into one of Tanzania’s recognized digital service brands, serving businesses, organizations, and individuals nationwide.
From carrying cement as a saidia fundi to leading companies that create jobs and digital infrastructure, Jacob Mushi’s story is one of faith, vision, and resilience. It is living proof that humble beginnings do not limit destiny—and that a vision laughed at today can become reality tomorrow.
